CUTTING ROOM FLOOR - Game Prototype & Details

CUTTING ROOM FLOOR!
Have you ever watched a movie and thought to yourself, "I could make a better movie than this"?
Now you can.

The old adage in Hollywood is that the editing room is where the movie is really made. Hours of footage are combed over and selected or cut and forgotten about.

Cutting Room Floor is a card-drafing, storytelling, moviebuilding game for 3-5 players. You take on the role of a movie editor, piecing together the movie that YOU want to make from all the footage shot by your hack director. Choose your genre and draft your Story Beats, Characters, Props, and Locations from the Cutting Room Floor to populate your Movie Timeline, all while adhering to conditions set by your Producers and staying within your movie's budget. Match enough Bonus Icons for the type of movie you're making, and you can draw an FX Card to receive a special bonus!

At the end of the game, pitch your movie to your fellow editors, and receive a unique Star Rating from the other Editors. The Editor with the highest combined Star Rating is the winner!

This game is still in the beginning prototype stages, but most of the rules have been streamlined, making for a great card-drafting/storytelling game that allows for both creativity and strategy. This will appeal to all kinds of gamers, from the strategic thinkers to the creative dreamers, and the movie-making theme touches on something very much felt by a vast majority of the population, but is seldom seen in tabletop gaming. This is a unique game with fun mechanics that lends itself well to replayability and future expansions.
